Kingsbury Swimming Pool Saved - Conservative Councillors Pledge Cash For Pool

Former soldier Dan Byles, the Prospective Conservative MP for North Warwickshire & Bedworth, expressed his delight this week that the Conservative run Warwickshire County Council has pledged to maintain funding for Kingsbury Pool.
Dan says: "Kingsbury Pool is a really important community asset, and I know from speaking with local people just how valued it is by young and old alike.
"There have been concerns in recent months about money. The Government has been squeezing the County Council's funding for years, and demanding that they make savings across all their budgets. I know that local people have been concerned that if the County Council cut their contribution to the pool's running costs, it might have to close.
"That's why I'm delighted that the Conservatives who run the County Council have agreed to continue funding the pool - ensuring that it remains open for the foreseeable future. Conservatives believe in listening to local people, and in protecting community services such as post offices, local doctor's surgeries and small village schools.
"I have spoken with the Conservative Leader of the Council Alan Farnell, and he has told me that, despite the pressures on his budgets caused by Government underfunding of Local Authorities, Warwickshire County Council will continue to provide their share of funding to ensure the pool remains open - because it is the right thing to do."
