Kingsbury School Stays Open Despite The Snow

Conservative Parliamentary Candidate Dan Byles, a former soldier who has previously set a Guinness World Record walking to the North Pole, this week passed on his hearty congratulations to the staff and parents of Kingsbury School for staying open throughout the recent icy spell.
While schools across the West Midlands have closed due to the unexpectedly heavy snowfalls, Kingsbury pupils and staff have continued to battle their way into school, thus ensuring that many parents who work have been spared the nightmare of trying to sort out last minute childcare or take time off work.
Dan Byles said:
"I want to pass on my congratulations to the staff and parents of Kingsbury School for showing a bit of Dunkirk spirit and proving that not everything in Britain shuts down at the first sight of snow.
"The weather really has been atrocious this past week - at times it felt like I was back at the North Pole! But the staff at Kingsbury School have shown that, with effective leadership and the right attitude, we can overcome even the sort of conditions we say last week.
"I'm sure that not every pupil was delighted to still be at school, but for parents who work it can be extremely difficult to juggle childcare when a school closes unexpectedly. That's the serious message from this. So well done to everyone who pulled out all stops to keep the school open."
