PowerKut are involved high accuracy manufacturing and testing for many industries - PowerKut's machinery is able to make measurements accurate to the nearest 0.0004mm over a length of 500mm. Mr Byles was particularly interested in the diversity of products and services supplied by the company, ranging from Nuclear components to Armourers Gauges, which are used on the front line by troops in Afghanistan to ensure that their weapons are safe.
PowerKut's Managing Director, Mr Peter Everitt commented: "It's great to see that Politicians are starting to take an interest in how the Defence supply chain benefits the local economy and how the defence supply chain supports other industries" adding "I hope that the UK government will seek to support home grown industries through purchasing UK manufactured Products"
Dan said: "I was delighted to have the opportunity to visit PowerKut Ltd. They are an incredible company who are quite literally unique in some of the services they offer.
"PowerKut Ltd is a classic example of a highly skilled niche engineering company. If you listen to the doom mongers, you would think that Britain has no manufacturing industry left at all outside of a few big names, but companies such as PowerKut Ltd are part of a vital supply chain of specialist companies that are essential across a range of industries.
"A world class manufacturing gem, tucked away on an unassuming North Warwickshire industrial estate, it is companies like this who are flying the flag for British engineering and innovation. We should be proud to have such a high tech, highly skilled company right here on our doorstep in Bedworth."
At its two midlands sites in Exhall and Birmingham, PowerKut provide full mechanical and electrical calibration, with manufacture defence equipment at its Exhall HQ. Recent contracts include parts of Babcock/ BAE Astute Weapons handling system and weapons gauges for MOD small arms.
The defence industry in the UK employs 300,000 people up and down the country, adding on average £12bn in value to the economy every year. The industry proudly works hand in hand with the Armed Forces both at home and on operations overseas.
