Former Army Major Dan Byles, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for North Warwickshire and Bedworth, today expressed his anger over the latest Government betrayal of retired Ghurkas soldiers.
Former Army Major and prospective MP Dan Byles, who holds a degree in Economics, today blasted Alistair Darling and Gordon Brown for bankrupting Britain – and for failing to explain how they will pay off the country’s crippling debts.
The streets of Atherstone, Bedworth and Coleshill this weekend saw an army of local Conservatives descend, led by former soldier Dan Byles, urging Gordon Brown to adopt two Tory tax policies aimed at helping pensioners and savers.
Former soldier Dan Byles, the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for North Warwickshire & Bedworth, today expressed his support for the town of Bedworth, and criticised Labour MP Mike O’Brien for implying that the town was being neglected.
Local Labour MP Mike O’Brien, who is also Minister for Energy and Climate Change, was looking red-faced with embarrassment this week after it turned out that his own Government’s regulations are responsible for the threat of opencast coal mining at Shuttington village.
The country stands at a crossroads, and the decisions made this year on Government borrowing, taxation and spending could hobble us for generations. That is the view of local Conservative candidate Dan Byles, who says that Gordon Brown has no mandate or credibility to make those decisions alone.
MP’s have never been held in lower regard by the general public than they are today. Sadly, the current Labour Government must bear much (though I accept not all) of the responsibility for this.
Recently released figures show that the jobless totals for North Warwickshire continue to soar as the economic recession bites deep in the West Midlands. The year on year increase between Feb 2008 and Feb 2009 stands at a staggering 152%.
