Once again, it is with a sad heart that I find myself having to waste time replying to a silly political attack from Labour MP Mike O’Brien over the issue of fire station closures. Time that we should both be spending on seeking a solution, on lobbying the council and the Chief Fire Officer, and on urging local people to write into the consultation.

I served in the Army for nine years, and I left to stand for election because I was fed up with the mess politicians were making of the country. After the expenses scandal, I'm even more determined to get into Westminster to bang some heads together.

Former soldier Dan Byles, Prospective Parliamentary Candidate (PPC) for North Warwickshire & Bedworth, has pledged to do his bit for the British Armed Forces family. Dan served for nine years as a regular Army officer.
